Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets recorded a marginal drop of 0.9%, falling to USD 5.42 billion in May 2024 from USD 5.47 billion in April 2024, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
This figure includes proceeds from a swap with the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) equivalent to around USD 1.4 billion, which is subject to conditionalities on usability.
