Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya announced today that there will be no budget proposal for 2025; only an interim standard account will be presented.
He explained that this decision aligns with passing interim accounts during major election years.
Minister Siyambalapitiya made this statement while addressing the media in the Ruwanwella area this morning. He noted that according to the 2024 budget proposals, parliamentary approval was granted to cover revenue expenditures only until December 31, 2024. Consequently, a separate budget document will be required for 2025.
