The National People’s Power (NPP) intends to introduce a new Constitution during its governance, aiming to incorporate a lasting solution to the national issue agreed upon by all parties, NPP MP Vijitha Herath said.
Herath stated in a news conference that discussions with all parties have not yet commenced regarding this solution. Regarding a meeting between NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and TNA representatives in Jaffna, Herath mentioned that the NPP plans to engage with all concerned parties to reach an agreement on addressing the national issue and other matters.
He emphasized that Sri Lanka’s current Constitution is outdated and asserted that a future NPP government would develop a new Constitution more suitable for the country.
