The Meteorology Department has forecast several spells of showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.
Additionally, showers or thundershowers are expected in a few places in the Uva province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
Strong winds, ranging from 40-50 kmph, are anticipated over the Western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts.
The general public is advised to take precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
