A foreign airline flight en route from Dubai to Colombo was forced to make an emergency landing at Karachi airport due to the sudden deterioration of a female passenger’s health.
Tragically, the 57-year-old Sri Lankan woman, identified as Palawini, passed away during the flight.
According to sources, the incident occurred when Palawini’s health deteriorated mid-flight. The flight captain immediately requested Karachi’s air traffic control for an emergency landing to seek urgent medical assistance.
Upon landing, doctors from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) boarded the aircraft to attend to the passenger. Despite their efforts, Palawini was pronounced dead. Sources confirmed that she suffered from a cardiac arrest during the flight.
The federal health officer stationed at the airport subsequently issued a death certificate for Palawini. After completing the necessary formalities, the flight departed from Karachi airport to its original destination in Colombo with her body.
The airline has not yet provided a statement regarding the incident. Passengers and crew members expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased.
