Two wanted underworld figures, allegedly involved in several murders and illegal activities, have been arrested by the CID in Dubai and brought to Sri Lanka early this morning.
Police identified the suspects as 48-year-old Dinesh Samantha de Silva, alias “Babi,” from Nugegoda, and 26-year-old Kankanamlage Dimuthu Chaturanga Perera, alias “Samitpura Chathu,” from Mattakkuliya. They were brought back via Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake by a team of four senior CID officers.
“Samitpura Chathu” will be handed over to the Colombo Crime Division (CCD), while “Babi” will be handed over to the Homicide and Organized Crime Investigation Division.
