Bread price to reduce tonight by Rs.10
The All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association (ACBOA) has decided to reduce the price of a 450-gram loaf of bread and other bakery items by Rs. 10, effective from midnight tonight.
ACBOA Chairman N.K. Jayawardana informed the Daily Mirror that this decision follows a request from Trade, Commerce, and Food Security Minister Nalin Fernando to lower bread prices within two days.
Minister Fernando mentioned that the decision came after discussions with bakery owners last Friday (19) about reducing the prices of bread and other bakery items.
Additionally, the ACBOA Chairman has urged association members to reduce the prices of other bakery products as much as possible.
