Heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-Western Provinces of Sri Lanka due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance, according to the Forecasting Division of the National Meteorological Centre.

The current rainy conditions across the island are anticipated to persist. Thunderstorms are forecasted in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva Provinces, with rain likely in several other areas during the evening or night. Additionally, morning showers may occur along the eastern coast.

The public is advised to take necessary precautions against potential damages from strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms.
